The last few months I’ve been working on a new installation called The School for ARTour Biennial. My participation in the exhibition, entitled The old new slavery, was completed with three other artwork already presented in 2013 (The Family, Follow the leaders and Residence secundaire), altogether has been a reflection on the systems of production, human relationships and the fragility of the capitalist system.
THE SCHOOL
The school installation is a reflection of how education has become an industry where universities have become a business and students into customers. Benefit culture has destroyed the values of knowledge considering useless everything that is not productive.
A factory converted in a huge reading room.
We live immersed in the industrialization of thinking that makes us slaves of production away from an enriching personal development through education.
“The individual never ceases passing from one closed environment to another, each having its own laws: first the family; then the school (“you are no longer in your family”); then the barracks (“you are no longer at school”); then the factory; from time to time the hospital; possibly the prison, the preeminent instance of the enclosed environment”. Society of Control. Gilles Deleuze
Special thanks to Eric Claus, Ecomusée du Bois-du-Luc, Stephane Tambeur, Bruno Lambinet and Laetitia Florent.
This artwork was inspired by reading L’utilite De L’inutile of Nuccio Ordine.

THE FAMILY
THE FAMILY from Isaac Cordal on Vimeo.
This installation consists of 24 cement modules, house rabbits used, converted into small offices where time seems to have stopped. Under the neon light are the new slaves of the twentieth century.
The new slogan is that the corporations are part of our family, as a kind of mantra associated with capitalism, spending more time at work than at home.
FOLLOW THE LEADERS
Follow the leaders is a critical reflection on our inertia as a social mass. Representing a social stereotype associated with power compound businessmen who run the global social spectrum.
RESIDENCE SECUNDAIRE
Résidence secondaire is a prison whose walls are formed by executive briefcases made in cement. The briefcase is the starting point to build the rest of the building to its scale: watchtowers, gates, barbed wire …
This is an installation that reflects on prevailing corruption in our days.
